In construction, plans refer to a set of drawing or two dimensional diagrams. These diagrams are used to illustrate the intended building process and outcome of a potential project. While these plans are typically drawn on paper, they may also be digitally created.
Plans are one of the first concrete steps in the building process and are often used to formalize and finalize ideas. A successful plan will convey enough information to allow for successful creation of a building design. Once a set of plans is clearly established and approved, the project moves into the drafting process.
